This is the third week in a row this feature is running on a Tuesday. Which is where it will stay from now on. All ranks are from the AP poll, since, well, it’s better than the Coaches poll.
- Kentucky – It’s a shame that Kentucky’s first national championship since 1998 will have to be vacated when Calipari mysteriously withdraws from his coaching post and leaves the program in shambles. Oh, wait, no it’s not.
- Syracuse – After doing their best to be more like Georgetown against USF, the Orange squeaked by UConn to clinch the Big East regular season title.
- Kansas – Maybe one of the best comebacks of the year in the Jayhawks OT win over Mizzou.
- Duke – An OT win over Virginia Tech is not as impressive as an OT win over Missouri. So why is Duke still ranked ahead of Kansas in the Coach’s Poll?
- Michigan State
- North Carolina
- Missouri – The Tigers have dropped two in a row, and you have to wonder if this four-guard lineup is sustainable in the tournament.
- Marquette – The Golden Eagles can clinch a double-by in the Big East tournament with a win at Cincy this week before facing Georgetown on Saturday at home.
- Baylor
- Ohio State
- Georgetown – See? See? I told you. Every time the Hoyas are ranked 9th, they lose. After back-to-back blowout wins, I’m kind of hoping we never change rankings for the rest of the year.
- Murray State – I can’t believe that the Racers are ranked 9th in the Coach’s Poll. No top-10 team should ever lose to Tennessee State, even if it is your only loss.
- Michigan
- Wisconsin – With the second slowest pace of play per Kenneth Pomeroy, the Badgers should be knocked down for being the most boring team to watch.
- Wichita State – How is this team already done with its regular season?
- Florida – A 14-point loss to Georgia is almost comical. Actually, it is very comical.
- UNLV
- Indiana
- Louisville
- Notre Dame – Looks like we’re the better Catholics. And the better team.
- San Diego State – Why is this team joining the Big East? And a better question, with six losses as a mid-major team and 2-3 in its past five games, why is this team still ranked?
- Florida State – It’s incredible that a team can beat UNC by 33 can lose to unranked Miami by 16.
- Temple
- Virginia – Wednesday night’s showdown against Florida State might be very telling about both of these teams. Then again, it could just continue to confuse me as to why Syracuse and Pittsburgh would join a conference this bad at basketball. [ed. note:
